How Long Does It Take to Form an LLC in Georgia?
Georgia LLC formation takes 7–15 business days under standard processing. Online filings are processed in approximately 7 business days, while mailed paper filings take about 15 business days from receipt. Expedited options range from 2 business days ($120) to same-business-day processing ($275) to 1-hour processing ($1,200). One or more organizers may form the LLC. Foreign owners are permitted.
Before Filing
Verify your desired name is available at https://ecorp.sos.ga.gov/BusinessSearch. You can reserve a name for 30 days for $35 if needed.
After Formation
Your LLC becomes effective on the date specified in your Articles or the filing date if no date is chosen. If you operate under a name different from your LLC name, file a DBA with the clerk of superior court in your business location county.
